An AI assistant for every employee, and the everyday work runs unmetered.

Organization: Global professional services firm.

Result: Rolled out to every employee. The everyday work runs unmetered on the device. Value outpaced cost at full scale.

A global professional services firm wanted to put an AI assistant in the hands of every employee, to speed the everyday work of drafting, research, and summarizing across the firm. The cloud pilot proved the value and then priced itself out: a per-use service running for tens of thousands of people, all day, grew more expensive with every seat added, until a firm-wide rollout cost more than it returned.

With the Teknikos Hybrid AI Method, the firm identified and shipped a hybrid solution that runs the everyday work on each employee's own device, so the assistant reached the entire workforce while its value outpaced its cost.

  • The Situation

The firm had proven that an AI assistant made its people faster, with quicker drafts, quicker research, and quicker summaries across every team. The ambition was simple: give that advantage to everyone. The economics were not.

The pilot ran on a cloud service billed by use, and the everyday assistant was used constantly, by everyone, all day. Every new seat added to the bill, and every task ran it up further, until the arithmetic of a firm-wide rollout turned the firm's best productivity tool into a cost it could not justify. The value was proven. The price of delivering it at scale was the problem.

  • How the Method Worked

The Teknikos Hybrid AI Method started by qualifying the use case. Its Eight Forces established that the work belonged on the device because it was everyday, high-frequency work that ran up the cloud bill with every use.

With the Unified Platform, the solution was mapped to the Microsoft products and services that would run and govern it, on the machines the workforce already used and the management plane IT already operated.

Its Hybrid Routing Tree determined the cloud and local split: the everyday drafting, research, and summarizing runs on each employee's device at no cost per use, and only the occasional heavy task, the deep reasoning over a large body of material, escalates to a frontier model in the cloud. The volume that drove the bill now runs at no cost per use.

Its Operating Wheel set the plan to keep the balance right as the models improve and more of the work becomes device-ready.

  • The End State

The firm gave the assistant to every employee, because the everyday work no longer ran up a bill with every use. The productivity it had proven in the pilot reached the whole workforce, and its value outpaced its cost at full scale.

The occasional heavy task still draws on a frontier model in the cloud, where that depth is worth paying for, while the constant everyday work runs on machines the firm already owned. The whole solution runs on the Microsoft estate the firm already operated, with IT, finance, and the business aligned behind it.
