💡 The PDF Dimensions service will process your selected files to generate your summary and topics – this may take a while!

  • Overview

The Folder Summary is the starting dimension for each PDF Dimensions session. This dimension contains a summary and topic list generated from the session’s connected PDF files.

    Actions

    • Select an in-line citation from the summary to view referenced PDF sources.

    • Select a topic from the list to navigate to a new dimension.

💡 Return to this dimension by selecting the folder name from the session navigation.

  • Overview

The Session Navigation contains links to the session’s topics and dimensions. As new dimensions are generated, they will appear in the Session Navigation.

    Actions

    • Generate a new dimension by selecting a topic from the navigation.

    • Return to previously-generated dimensions to revisit content and continue workstreams.

💡 A plus symbol means more dimensions were generated from that topic and can be returned to from the navigation.

  • Overview

Components make up the content of each dimension. They are the interactive touchpoints and paths for continued exploration that help users learn more about a subject, drill into content, explore related topics, track action items, and more.

    Actions

    • Select a component to generate a new dimension.

    • Some components are interactive – click checkboxes to track progress and scroll timelines for more information.

💡 Components are generated dynamically, so not every dimension will feature the same components.

  • Overview

Dimensions are the pages of the PDF Dimensions application. They are generated when users select a topic, component, or enter terms into the search bar. Dimensions are saved to the session and can be revisited from the Session Navigation.

    Actions

    • Generate a dimension by selecting a topic or component.

    • Use the “Ask Me Anything” search bar to generate a custom dimension.

💡 Dimensions are generated on-demand from user input.

  • Overview

Track relevant tasks and other action items from a session.

    Actions

    • Review tasks by selecting Follow-Up Tasks from the Session Menu.

    • Select a task to mark it as done/not done.

    • Navigate back to the dimension where the task was generated.

💡 Follow-Up Tasks are automatically added when they are generated from a new dimension.

  • Overview

The Session Summary displays Learning Paths, questions asked, and other important highlights of the dimensions explored.

    Actions

    • View the summary by selecting Session Summary from the Session Menu.

💡 The Session Summary is always available in the Session Menu after the first dimension is explored.

  • Overview

Verify the information provided in PDF Dimensions by selecting an in-line citation. The References panel provides interactive thumbnails of the PDF sources referenced in the current dimension.

    Actions

    • Select a thumbnail in the References panel to view the specific PDF page source.

    • Launch the source PDF in a new window to view the full PDF source.

💡 There can be multiple citations from the same source.

💡 Custom dimensions are added to the session navigation and can be returned to like any other dimension.

  • Overview

PDF Dimensions can be configured for local, cloud, and hybrid inferencing.

    Actions

    • Download Phi Silica on compatible devices to enable Hybrid and Local configurations.

    • Enter an Azure OpenAI Endpoint, Deployment, and API Key to enable Hybrid and Cloud configurations.

    • Save changes to your Azure OpenAI information.
